Dantrolene was used to test impact of Ca2+ efflux from internal stores on neurotransmitter vesicle release in living neurons. Dantrolene, being added to intracellular solution, suppressed release of synaptic vesicles. Figure: change of a neuron electrical capacitance in response to series of electrical stimuli. Increase of electrical capacitance reflects increased number of vesicles fusing with cell membrane.
