Submit ReviewPravastatin sodium salt is a water-soluble, competitive inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methyl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase. Potently blocks cholesterol synthesis in vivo (Ki~ 1 nM) and displays cardioprotective properties.
