Biological Activity for DMSO, sterile filtered

DMSO, sterile filtered is a solvent with wide ranging applications in cell culture, cryopreservation and organic chemistry. DMSO dissolves both polar and nonpolar compounds. Improves responsiveness of human embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to differentiation signals. DMSO is used in PCR to inhibit secondary structure formation by DNA template or primers.

DMSO, Cell Cryopreserve Grade (Cat. No. 7726) also available.

In vivo use.

Assay Type: In Vivo
Species: Mouse
Cell Line/Tissue: colorectal cancer cells

I used this DMSO for in vivo mice injections. The product worked very well in vivo. 10% DMSO solution was prepared in sterile PBS and the mice were injected with 200-300 uL i.p. every other day. All mice tolerated the injection and survived very well for more than 4 weeks.

DMSO for cryopreservation of HBECs.
By Angie Sin on 01/25/2021
Assay Type: In Vitro
Species: Human
Cell Line/Tissue: HBEC-5i (ATCC CRL-3245)

We use DMSO for cryopreservation of HBECs - 92.5% of complete growth medium (containing DMEM/F12, 10% FBS, 1% penicillin-streptomycin and 40 µg/mL endothelial growth supplement) : 7.5% of DMSO. Cells grow well after thawing.

To dissolve CHIR for kidney differentiation from iPSC.
By Pinyuan Tian on 08/07/2018
Assay Type: In Vitro
Species: Human
Cell Line/Tissue: iPSC

DMSO is used for dissolving CHIR (4423).Reconstitute 10 mg of CHIR in 2.149 ml of DMSO for a final concentration of 10mM.

Make 100µl aliquots and keep them at −80 °C for 6-12 months.
