Preparing Stock Solutions for EGTA

The following data is based on the product molecular weight 380.35. Batch specific molecular weights may vary from batch to batch due to the degree of hydration, which will affect the solvent volumes required to prepare stock solutions.

Select a batch to recalculate based on the batch molecular weight:
Concentration / Solvent Volume / Mass 1 mg 5 mg 10 mg
1 mM 2.63 mL 13.15 mL 26.29 mL
5 mM 0.53 mL 2.63 mL 5.26 mL
10 mM 0.26 mL 1.31 mL 2.63 mL
50 mM 0.05 mL 0.26 mL 0.53 mL

EGTA activates CRAC current via passive ER Ca2+ depletion in HEK293 cells co-expressing YFP-STIM1 and Orai1-CFP..
By Anonymous on 12/16/2018
Assay Type: In Vitro
Species: Human
Cell Line/Tissue: HEK293

ER Ca2+ in HEK293 cells co-expressing YFP-STIM1 and Orai1-CFP was passively depleted with pipette solution, containing (in mM): 20 EGTA, 145 Cs-methanesulfonate, 8 NaCl, 5 MgCl2 and 10 HEPES, pH 7.2 with KOH.

EGTA inhibits 15d-PGJ2 induced TNFa production by cardiomyocytes.
By Anonymous on 12/10/2018
Assay Type: In Vitro
Species: Mouse
Cell Line/Tissue: cardiomyocytes

HL-1 cells were incubated with EGTA (5 mM) for 30 min prior to 15d-PGJ2 (15 µM) treatment for 4 h to follow TNFa concentrations in the cell culture medium. Addition of EGTA resulted in abolition of 15d-PGJ2 induced TNFa production.
