Tocris Bioscience announces the opening of new laboratories

October 31st, 2005 - Tocris Bioscience (Bristol, UK) announced the opening of new laboratories at the IO Centre, Bristol.

Developed to meet the needs of Tocris' Production, R&D and Quality Control operations the new labs have a flexible open-plan layout based around a well-equipped central analytical laboratory. Currently 700 sq m (7,000 sq ft) in size, the labs have been designed with future growth in mind and feature advanced environmental controls and fully integrated IT systems.

"These new labs are a tremendous boost to Tocris' production capabilities and exactly what we need to keep us at the cutting edge of scientific research," said Dr. David Peters, Tocris' Head of Supply Chain.

Managing Director, Laurence Ede added, "Our £700,000 [$1.2 million] investment in these laboratories underlines Tocris' absolute commitment to being the undisputed supplier of choice in the life science sector."

Tocris is currently in the process of expanding its laboratory team, with plans to double the number of lab staff by 2008. The new facility was built to accommodate this growth and is in addition to Tocris' other laboratory facilities located in Sussex, UK.
