Saline or morphine (10 mg/kg, s.c.) was injected 1 h prior to intrarectal instillation of peanut oil (Veh) or AITC 2% (v/v) in mice. Phosphorylation of p42/44 was analysed in spinal cord (Sc), thalamus (Th), hypothalamus (Hth), amygdala (Amy), and prefrontal cortex (Pfc) lysates using Western blot. Morphine significantly inhibited AITC-induced pp42/44 expression (shown in Image).
