Tocris Relocates to a New State of the Art Facility

Tocris Bioscience, part of the Biotechnology division of Bio-Techne, today announced that it has relocated to a new 30,000 square foot premises located on the outskirts of Bristol, UK. The new $10M facility includes laboratory, office and warehouse space and highlights Bio-techne's commitment to providing cutting edge products to the global life science research community.

Since its foundation in 1982 Tocris Bioscience has established itself as a leading global supplier of innovative high performance life science research reagents. The Tocris range of over 4,000 products consists of small molecules and peptides, and represents a unique collection of novel and exclusive research tools. Products include GPCR ligands, neurotransmitters, ion channel modulators, signaling inhibitors and much more. The new facility, named "The Watkins Building" in honor of our founder Professor Jeff Watkins, has 8,400 square feet of laboratory space and will allow Tocris to continue to expand its already unrivaled product range into new areas of research. A year in the execution the new site also brings together all of Tocris' functions under one roof, resulting in significant operational efficiency gains and improved service levels to customers.

Speaking at the official opening event Duncan Crawford, Chief Scientific Officer for Tocris Bioscience said, 'This is a great day for Tocris and an opportunity to remind ourselves that the company has been founded on strong scientific roots.
