Submit ReviewTeniposide is a DNA topoisomerase II inhibitor and viral transduction enhancer. It induces breaks in double-stranded DNA and prevents DNA repair. Teniposide enhances transduction of recombinant adeno-associated virus 2 (rAAV2) by up to 40-fold in human cells in vitro and by 100-fold in vivo at 24 h post-transduction.

In normal cells, each stage of the cell cycle is tightly regulated, however in cancer cells many genes and proteins that are involved in the regulation of the cell cycle are mutated or over expressed. This poster summarizes the stages of the cell cycle and DNA repair. It also highlights strategies for enhancing replicative stress in cancer cells to force mitotic catastrophe and cell death.
