Biological Activity for WIN 18446

WIN 18446 is an inhibitor of aldehyde dehydrogenase 1a2 (ALDH1a2) (IC50 = 0.3 μM). Inhibits the biosynthesis of retinoic acid from retinol in neonatal and adult murine testis.

Effectively inhibits human Aldh1a2.

This was used to inhibit recombinant Aldh1a2 activity in a titration curve.

Win-18446 showed an IC50 value at approximately 15 uM in a cell-free reaction assay. Was dissolved in DMSO to 100 mM with no solubility issues.
