Biological Activity for EG 00229 trifluoroacetate

EG 00229 trifluoroacetate is a neuropilin 1 (NRP1) antagonist; inhibits VEGFA binding to the NRP1 b1 CendR binding pocket. Has no effect on VEGFA binding to VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2. Reduces VEGFA-induced VEGFR-2 tyrosine phosphorylation in HUVECs. Also attenuates VEGFA-induced HUVEC cell migration and reduces A549 lung carcinoma cell viability in vitro. Inhibits binding of CendR motif in S1 protein of SARS-CoV-2 to NRP1, and reduces efficiency of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Caco-2 cells.
