Licarbazepine is an active metabolite of oxcarbazepine (Cat. No. 3864). Produces dose-dependent inhibition of glutamatergic excitatory postsynaptic potentials (EPSPs). Displays anticonvulsant activity; exhibits minor potentiation of GABAA receptor currents.

Inhibiting currents through voltage gated sodium channel Nav1.5 in HEK-293-Nav1.5 cells. We used it at a concentration of 300 micromolar.

A stock solution of 100 mM in DMSO was used.
