Submit ReviewKey information: Phalloidin-FITC is a green-fluorescent cytoskeleton stain. It binds and labels specifically F-actin.
Used for: Phalloidin-FITC can be used to visualize and quantify F-actin in tissue sections, cell cultures or cell-free experiments with optimal results in formaldehyde-fixed and permeabilized cells.
Application: fluorescent microscopy, immunofluorescence (IHC, ICC).
Properties and Photophysical Data: Phalloidin-FITC is composed of the F-actin probe, Phalloidin (Cat. No. 4535), conjugated to Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC; Cat. No. 5440) dye. Phalloidin binds F-actin with high selectivity allowing Phalloidin-FITC to stain actin with high-contrast discrimination. Excitation and emission maxima (λ) are 496 nm and 516 nm, respectively.
We suggest making up a stock solution of this product by dissolving the vial contents in 1.5 mL methanol or DMSO. Please refer to the protocol for further information on using this product.
Applications in HeLa Cells for Phalloidin-FITC. Application of Phalloidin-FITC: HeLa cells were labeled with 150 nM Phalloidin-FITC for 20 minutes. Counterstained with DAPI (Catalog # 5748).
