Insertional inactivation of an antibiotic resistance gene.
By Anonymous on 11/15/2018
Assay Type: In Vitro
Species: Human

Blue/white screening (Insertional inactivation of an enzyme coding gene) was carried out.The vector molecule contains genes that when expressed confer resistance to the antibiotics ampicillin.Bacteria (E. coli, lacZ’-) containing non-recombinant plasmid grows on ampicillin plates (due to the ampicillin resistance gene) and have a blue colour (in the presence of X-gal) due to the presence of the lacZ’ gene.
