Submit ReviewEvans Blue tetrasodium salt is a potent inhibitor of L-glutamate uptake into synaptic vesicles. Also inhibits AMPA and kainate receptor-mediated currents (IC50 values are 220 and 150 nM respectively). P2X-selective purinoceptor antagonist. Also a non-permeating dye, stains damaged plasma membrane and enters in the cytoplasm and nucleus, used for checking cell viability.
