Submit ReviewSCOTfluor glucose probe 510 is a fluorescent probe for visualizing glucose uptake in vivo. It can be multiplexed with BFP and GFP. Excitation and emission maxima (λ) are 490 and 605 nm, respectively.
Application of SCOTfluor glucose probe 510 in HeLa cells. Fluorescence microscopy image of GLUT4-EGFP HeLa cells treated with SCOTfluor glucose probe 510 (100 μm). Colors: green (GLUT4-EGFP), red (SCOTfluor glucose probe 510), blue: Hoechst 33342 (Catalog # 5117). Image kindly provided by Prof. Marc Vendrell, acquired by Dr Sam Benson, Centre for Inflammation Research, University of Edinburgh.
Application of SCOTfluor glucose probe 510 in zebrafish embryos. In vivo images of zebrafish embryos (28 h post fertilization) after injection of SCOTfluor glucose probe 510 (50 pmol) to the yolk sac in wildtype zebrafish (left) or zebrafish injected at one cell stage with 4.2 ng anti-sense glu2 morpholino (right). Image kindly provided by Prof. Marc Vendrell, acquired by Dr Yi Feng, Centre for Inflammation Research, University of Edinburgh.
