Biological Activity for Ac4GalN6yne

Ac4GalN6yne is a cell-permeable alkyne-containing monosaccharide building block. It can be used in Bio-Orthogonal Cell-specific Tagging of Glycoproteins (BOCTAG) technique. In this strategy, cells carrying an artificial biosynthetic pathway (B. longum NahK and mut-AGX1) can generate alkyne-tagged UDP-GalN6yne, that are then used by glycosyltransferases to chemically tag the glycoproteome. Ac4GalN6yne can be used for bioorthogonal labelling in vitro and mouse models.
